Ideas For Extended Project

Whats going to make my project good:
-Planning
-Researching
-Developing
-Reveiwing

Whats skill i will develop:
-Research and Reveiw
-Planning
-Analysis
-Evaluation

My idea:
I have been comissioned to compose a two minute song for the end credits of a new film being
released next March. The film genre is crime so the song i compose can not be "soppy" or slow
but a fast up beat song which will fit well with the genre and be a good ending to the film.

Research will be a key part in producing the song, as i will need to look into other films in this
genre and see what kinds of music they have used for end credits. Also what kind of people are
usually used to produce and compose music for end credits of film or the music for the films.

Developing my ideas, i need to be able to do my research and put it in to practice, by this i
mean anaylise other music used in this genre, being crime, and start to be thinking about if the
i compose will be instrumental or if their will be someone singing.

I will make a few different snippets i could use for end credits and play them to maybe friends,
family and the local public to see what they think of if and ask them to fill in a servy.

To keep a record of my ideas and my progress i will keep my blog updated with research
servys i will create and also i will create a powerpoint where all my planning, research,
development, different ideas, peoples reveiws, my final piece and my evaluation of everything
during the time and also my personal opinion on my song and if i think its like compared to
songs in the same genre is mine, crime.

Evaluation Of Apps Presentation

WhizzApps' - Universal Street Spot
In our prestentation to the other members of the class, we decided to have less detail on slides and more of us speaking and explaining. I personally think if we would of just read it of the screen like other people did then the people listening would find it boring and wouldn't actually take in what we were saying. We explained in a lot of detail what our app was and what its functions were. I think we came first overall in the pitch and concept because we made the audience understand what our idea was and when they did answer questions we answered them clearly and in alot of detail. As well as this i believe people understood our pitch and liked it because it was an exciting idea and had a lot of potential. However even though i did talk about research to the class i don't think i did do enough research on other apps similair to ours. It was not very formal as we didnt stand up. But we did cover everything that the audience needed to know.

App Research

App research

The idea for our app is basically an app created for youngsters who are interested in skateboarding, cycling
and so on, the app is like a site for all people interested in these sports to communicate and talk about new locations and certain areas good for the sports they like doing. The app can also introduce new people who haven't really done the sports before to see were and when people skate and so on. But also information on how to do certain tricks or were you can buy things in relation to your sport.

In the first lesson of planning i had to think about the cost of the app and how we would make a profit, i came up with the idea that if you rate certain places or even let the other users of the app know new places to skate you could unlock stages. However to make the profit. We have decided that if you, for example live in Berkshire for free you can search and find all the popular spots for your sport. However if you wanted to go out of the area and search were the best spots are in Surrey you would have to pay something along the lines on £1.29. This gives users access to search and find and popular and recommended places to go in the world.

Research i have done:

SPOTS – BMX I have researched what our app could actually look like and i thought this was a good one. As when you see it, straight away you can see what app is about.

I found a website through my research which can help our group to think about how we will decide the final price.
  • What is the value of this service?
  • Do competitors offer similar for less?
  • What is the opportunity cost of subscribing?
  • Is this the final amount I'll have to pay?
These questions will benefit our group as it will open our minds to think about other competors and if our app is actually going to sell and be of interest to anyone.
